We lived a decadent lifestyle in our two-bedroom, Star Class suite complete with a 620-foot wrap around deck, views of the Aqua Theater, unlimited on- board amenities and Daniel, our Royal Genie (Royal Caribbean's answer to butler service). As a bonus, we celebrated my birthday and an early “Friend’s Christmas” while on board.

Filled with excitement upon boarding, we explored our cabin, met our Royal Genie, perused through our Cruise Compass (the schedule of daily events and activities) and we agreed that we’d experience everything that there was to do aboard – little did we know that experiencing everything on board this vast ship on a 5-day cruise simply wasn’t going to happen, there is just too much to do!

The Allure of the Seas offers everything one would expect on a cruise; a variety of restaurants, bars, pools, casino, shopping, spa services, shows and classic shipboard activities like bingo, karaoke, and line dancing. These events and venues alone could keep you plenty occupied, but the Allure doesn’t stop there.....

Oceanaria is an incredible Cirque du Soleil-style show with acrobatics, aerialists and high divers performing to a beautiful backdrop at the aft of the ship. The show takes place multiple times throughout the cruise and fills to capacity each showing.

For a truly unique experience, you can ice skate at sea in the ice arena, or maybe go zip lining on board the ship. How about a carousel ride or take your chance at surfing on the Flow Rider?

If its shows you like, we were thrilled to see the full Broadway production of Mama Mia.

My greatest surprise was how special it feels to be a Star Class passenger in a suite. We didn’t wait in line for anything, we were always whisked to the front of the line (truly a pleasure on embarkation day and while re-boarding the ship after our shore excursions in port).

We dined at a different Specialty Restaurant each night experiencing 5-star service at each dining venue and enjoyed all-day access to Coastal Kitchen, a private dining room for breakfast, lunch and dinner for suite class passengers only.

Wi-Fi was included which we could use throughout the entire ship and available to us 24 hours a day.

Our Star Class status allowed us access to the Sun Deck, a quiet, private deck with enclosed cabanas where we relaxed on sea days.

A huge benefit was having all our beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) included for the entire cruise: we definitely took advantage of unlimited champagne and custom cocktail service in our cabin!

Our cabin's deck was so large that it had a 6-person dining table where we enjoyed breakfast almost daily (no crowds, no getting showered and dressed early) we enjoyed a casual al fresco meal before the busy day began.

Daniel, our Royal Genie, went above and beyond to ensure that our needs and requests were met each day and we especially enjoyed it when he would stop by and just chat with us.

While it may be more expensive up front to pay for a suite in Star Class, knowing that there are no additional bar or soda bills, no additional dining charges, 24 hour Wi-Fi access, no required gratuities at the end of the cruise, complimentary laundry service, restocked sodas and water each day, in room bar/beverage service and upgraded linens and bath products it really is a worthwhile investment.

The cabin provides more than enough room for everyone, with it’s two bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with a full bathtub) and a spacious living room. A family of six (or a group of friends) can easily cruise in comfort and style in the same cabin category that we sailed in - and the best part, it’s “all-inclusive”.

I could go on and on about the cruise, the service, the outstanding food, the Broadway entertainment the beautiful ship and amazing staff, but I won’t (for now!).

What I will do is encourage you to reach out to me directly for additional information, I’d love to help you, your family and friends book a vacation on board this fantastic ship (or perhaps a different Royal Caribbean ship).
